International Maritime Register (IMR), is a Recognized Organization (RO) and a Recognized Security Organization (RSO) for Panamanian Administrations dully authorized to perform surveys and issue statutory certificates based on the International Regulations (IMO/ ILO) and National Regulations to vessels registered with them.

IMR have develop Class Rules with high standards to ensuring the safety of the ships. IMR conducts Class surveys according to the client’s needs in conformance with our Rules, and issue Class Certificates for Hull and Machinery.

IMR Class is under process to be authorized by Panama Flag for vessel over 500 GT.

International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 74 as amended

The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) is an international maritime treaty which sets out minimum safety standards in the construction, equipment and operation of merchant ships.

  • Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificate (SAFCON)

  • Cargo Ship Safety Radio Certificate (SAFRA)

International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL73/78) as modified by the Protocol of 1978

The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973 as modified by the Protocol of 1978, or “MARPOL 73/78” (short for “marine pollution”) is one of the most important international marine environmental conventions. It was developed by the International Maritime Organization with an objective to minimize pollution of the oceans and seas, including dumping, oil and air pollution.

The Convention includes regulations aimed at preventing and minimizing pollution from ships – both accidental pollution and that from routine operations – and currently includes six technical Annexes. Special Areas with strict controls on operational discharges are included in most Annexes.

International Convention on Load Lines (LL)

The International Convention on Load Lines (CLL), pertains specifically to a ship’s load line (also referred to as the “waterline”), a marking of the highest point on a ship’s hull that can safely meet the surface of the water; a ship that is loaded to the point where its load line is underwater and no longer visible has exceeded its draft and is in danger because its capacity has been exceeded.

In accordance with the International Convention on Load Lines (CLL 66/88), all assigned load lines must be marked amidships on each side of the ships engaged in international voyages.

International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships 1969

The International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships 1969, establish uniform principles and rules with respect to the determination of tonnage of ships engaged on international voyages.

International Safety Management (ISM) Code

The International Safety Management (ISM) Code is the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standard for the safe management and operation of ships at sea.

International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code

The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code is an amendment to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention (1974/1988) on Maritime security including minimum security arrangements for ships and ports.

The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) is a comprehensive set of measures to enhance the security of ships and port facilities, developed in response to the perceived threats to ships and port facilities in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in the United States” (IMO).

Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006 and amendments

The Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) is an International Labour Organization (ILO) convention, number 186, established in 2006 as the fourth pillar of international maritime law and embodies “all up-to-date standards of existing international maritime labour Conventions and Recommendations, as well as the fundamental principles to be found in other international labour Conventions”.

CLASS

IMR Class  certify that the vessels comply with relevant standards and carry out regular surveys in service to ensure continuing compliance with the standards of our class rules.

Remote Survey

Remote Surveys may be used as an alternative to survey on site, employing remote inspection techniques by the crew or ship-designated person, to provide the survey results necessary to the IMR appointed surveyor, for the correspondent evaluation, therefore, the survey can be carried out wherever the ship is located and in order to ensure compliance with the applicable international requirements.

MANUALS & PLANS

 IMR is dully authorized by the flag administration to review and approve plans, manuals and booklets according to the IMO Regulations as a reference and will propose amendments, corrections or updated if applicable, for final approval.
