The purpose of this technical note is to inform to ALL IMR Surveyors and Representatives that according to new amendments completed for MARPOL Annex VI, regarding The inclusion of the Mediterranean Sea Emission Control Area for Sulphur Oxides and Particulate Matters, Regional Reception facilities within Artic waters, information to be included in the Bunker Delivery Note (BDN) and information to be submitted to the IMO Ship Fuel Oil Consumption Database were amended and will become in force to be noticed and included during the following surveys starting from May 1st, 2024.

In addition, we can bring to your mind that Bunker Delivery Note (MARPOL Annex VI, Appendix V) includes the Flash Point in accordance with the standards acceptable as part of the items that need to be detailed; if not, a statement that the flashpoint has been measured at or above 70°C need to be included.

In case of vessels of 5,000GT or above which applies the procedure to submit information for IMO Ship Fuel Oil Consumption Database, the Appendix IX of MARPOL Annex VI, was replaced and updated for New requirements on Ship´s Carbon Intensity (CII) and when Ships change company data will need to be submitted to the losing Administration (or Recognized Organization) on the day of completion of change of company or as close as practical to it, in accordance with the revised appendix IX.
