Message and Solutions from IMR CLASS on COVID-19

International Maritime Register, Inc ( IMR CLASS) continues to follow the expert advice of the World Health Organization and local national medical Authorities (MINSA) on COVID-19. We are aware of the ongoing challenges being faced by the entire shipping sector due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
IMR CLASS wishes to reiterate its commitment to upholding its responsibilities and duties as one of the RO acting on behalf of Panama Maritime Authority as we monitor developments and take into account all international and shipping industry guidance on this issue.
We will work with all our shipping industry partners , agents and surveyors to offer support, provide guidance and consider solutions for our clients and shipowenrs , their seafarers affected by COVID-19.
In addition to direct issues resulting from crew or passengers being taken ill, we are aware of the possible impact to statutory surveys, audits and inspections. The IMR CLASS has issued Technical note to provide advice and general guidance on actions to be taken in the case of extension of Seafarer Employment Agreements
and/or postponement of statutory surveys, audits and/or inspections:

IMR CLASS requests that the technical Department is immediately reported or advised of all suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 onboard, or due to attendance onboard to the Panama ships who enrolled our IMR CLASS and we will immediately report the Flag state and if any circumstances , the ship owner can also directly send the email to the flag state as well .
